Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Between 2004 and 2007 the Georgia Department of Education (GDOE) awarded a School Improvement Grant to several state universities to train public schools in Georgia to develop and implement school-wide and classroom management systems based in Positive Behavior Supports principles. Over 100 schools across the state participated in the training programs and were provided follow-up support by external consultants. Because additional schools in the state have requested training, GDOE and Valdosta State University have developed on-line training materials that will enable new schools to also become a Georgia Positive Behavior Supports school.
